This is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful apartments in the historical centre of Lucca. It is on the ground floor of a noble palace, dating back to the 17. Century, that is situated in the heart of town and has ceilings decorated with wonderful original frescoes. The interiors are spacious and tastefully furnished. Because the original structure has carefully been preserved, the apartment retains its original charm. Angelo Custode is also unique in that it opens directly to a magical internal garden, one of the very few left in Lucca that still has the original terracing decorated with mosaics and marble masks of 16th century. It is under protection of the Monuments and Fine Arts Office for this reason. The use of the garden is only for the tenants of this apartment and, when in residence, for the young son of the owner who lives in an apartment on the opposite side of the garden.
